TO THE ASPIRING ARTISTS OUT THERE....
The Furry DistinctionThis topic came up when I was walking with a mate to GDC when we were over in San Fran earlier this year. In summery; what makes a 'Furry'?
Now my mate is a Furry (Fursona, Fursuit, watches My Little Pony) and by his distinction because I draw anthropomorphised characters I am by default a furry. But then I was countering that I wasn't, partly because it is a bit of a fetish but more importantly I don't think I'm as invested per say to define myself as such.
Example, I go to certain boards because I can find lots of great art on them (because a lot of good artists co-incidentally draw furry's). On several notable occasions, when somebody posted pictures of NONE furry chicks the poster was cast as some hybrid of Hitler and Mecha Jesus, and the pictures were called hideous. For the fact that these women weren't furry characters repulsed them, and that when given an option a true furry will take an anthropomorphic character as a preference.
Contrasty to me, when the thought of a real life
The End, a kind of unacknowledged hope ...I had a thought today that I wanted to share about this whole "End of the World" bug that's been making the rounds for the past few years.
Simple put the reality is that in an odd kind of non-PC kind of way the people who are talking about and planning for it are in fact expressing a kind of hope that things can and will finally get better on this little blue & white orb spinning uncontrolled through the void that is our reality.
It's a kind of hope that things won't continue on in that horrid out of control fashion that they have been for as long as living memory.
It's a kind of hope that God, Allah or some other as yet unknown or unnamed higher power will show us that they  actually do give a damn and step in to say 'enough is enough' and put a stop to the horrid nightmare we call life.
It's the kind of thing that generation after generation hopes and prays for because for some the end just can't seem to come fast enough.
It's a kind of lie we telling ourselves because for some,

To all of those who are/were in art school . . .I'd like to ask you all a few very important questions.
I am seriously thinking about going into a game design program after graduation and I have spoken with my family as well with my sister (who is also an art major as well) about it all. My sister has told me the reality; that it's difficult to actually get a job and grow big within the artist industry. You really need to to make connections as well as work hard almost every single day. She also told me that the first year is simply "testing waters" and you'll find that the classes you took, you wouldn't really want to do anymore because it's not fun for you. Soaking all of that in, I'm actually scared about entering art school. I want to succeed in life but as well, be happy with what I really love to do. Which is art.
I also spoke with a college adviser at a career convention, and he even told me as well that it's extremely difficult to get into programs and accepted into jobs. He also told me that they were looking for more women
If SOPA gets approved...... how am I going to get all my movies and songs without paying for them? ITS AN OUTRAGE I SAY!
I suppose thats the only thing I like about the Australian Goverment, they're honest. American Politicians lead you to believe you have a voice and that you can "make a difference", when the truth is quite clear to the contrary, when its not your voice that matters, but your bank account size.
Australia doesn't pull such a charade, we dont get to say didly, and they dont try to let on like we do.
And here come the shpeels of facts about SOPA (PIPA, etc), and the American way of life, and what a little hovel Australia is, and how all the animals want to kill you (all the while ignoring the fact that America and Co are full of bears, cougers, and gun toting rednecks). Now if you'll excuse me Im busy deciding whether I should draw D-cups or just say fuck it and just go into the filthy spectrum of tit sizes... but that's presumed what I do with my day.

Against the Law to Draw ...So back in 2009, just when I was leaving Japan (and wishing I could stay) the big joke of the day was the Anti-Manga law that was making the rounds in political circles. Now at the time it was a joke because no one ** and I do mean No-One ** who actually reads manga wanted this law to pass. In point of fact it no one even took the law seriously viewing it as a breach of trust between the government and the people of japan ** Most of whom actually read Manga **
My point is that in 2009 this law failed to pass and the issue was considered dead. (Laugh now ... )  
The punch line of this joke is with the change of government in Japan and the general social chaos during the years that followed. Somehow while no one was looking the same fascist pigs managed to sneak through an even harsher law that pretty much bans everything. Driving in Lebanon is back!It's February 29 and I'm painting this rare day red by finally releasing the ultimate edition of Driving in Lebanon!

Instead  of publishing vol. 2 separately, I revised vol. 1 and expanded it with all the strips that woud have gone in the second: a total of 55 gags over 308 pages. One major change is that each gag is labelled with the place where I observed it (though many were observed in several places.)  To make the most of the e-book format, every frame has been checked to achieve a quasi-animated effect as you flip the pages on your reading device. The popular Arabic treatment is still included: lock your device's screen rotation and flip it over to read in Arabic! Looks great  both on iPad and iPhone (and the like.)

Oh gosh, this looks amazing! I would love to be a character designer~Lord knows I have so many original Avatar-themed characters myself.

Dammit. I did not realise that this journal is months old and the thing is filled. Sigh. It's my dream to work with Bryke. I'm even working on my own "fanseries" xD

Being a Character Designer for a show like this would be my dream come true! I'd love to apply to make a career change, but my current work online does not have much range. I wish I knew how long this job posting is going to be up so I can make some things that might impress them. :(
