New Year comes around, and it may look pretty much like the continuation of the other one, with a few tiny differences.
I'm FINALLY about to finish the insanity that is Water Tribe (one big huge storytelling exercise). I'll soon start posting the pages again on DA and when I do, watch out. Some of the updates will come like a floodburst. All the pages will be posted at the
club during 2009.
When that is out of the way, I'll finally go back to work on my original characters project.
Though I know Zhao will drag me back in once in a while. Perhaps more often than I'd like.
Did I mention there will be more Avatar comics made for Nick Magazine? Yup, a whole bunch made with a lot of people working on them with a lot of fun. They will be short and mostly geared towards an all ages readership, but still should be enjoyable to everyone who may want to see tidbits of the Avatar world uncovered (not all of it very serious...I'm guilty on that, ha ha!).
I know I haven't been posting a lot here, being busy with the day job - so I'll distract your attention by mentionning other people's project:
First and foremost, The Meek project by
, who has created a complex and rich world. She's worked out hundreds of pages of the story and is starting to post final pages on the brand new Meek website:[link]
A bit more infos here in her journal:[link]
Definitely keep an eye on it as it updates.
Another one I'm keeping an eye on (and hoping for nice, big thing for it), is "The Less Than Epic Adventures of TJ and Amal" from
There's a lot of heart to this story and the characters, and it's a joy to see it grow.[link]
Dave Roman and Raina Telgemeir have been working together on a manga version of the X-Men: they are a wonderful creative team, and I wish them the very best for this book. The cover can be seen here:[link]
There's a few other people who have great creative projects,
in writing and
in a graphic novel project, but since those are work in progress, I don't know how much I can mention them. I'll let them announce it when they are ready.
And Donna Barr, who keeps working like an unstoppable drawing machine, still building up on the world of her characters, even in their afterlife (or more precisely, afterdeath)
Have I made you forget how little I've made and posted? No?
Well, keep looking at these awesome artists. They'll entertain you more than I ever could.
My wishes to you all in this new year: make nice art discoveries, be art productive with plenty of inspiration. May you bring all your project to the light of day. Health, peace and no money troubles.
I'll return to my little cave now.
Apologies in advance if I don't have the time to reply to everyone. The daytime job is taking a lot of my time.
And Zhao, for a little while longer.
Excuses, excuses, as always...
