Exclusive Rise Of The Guardians artA quick heads up that me and two of the Visual Development artists (WoonYung Jung and Perry Maple) on the Guardians movie have been working on some special, short stories that will appear exclusively online.
Can't find them in the Art Of book!
We were happy that the studio let us play around a little bit longer within the world of Guardians. Each story will have a different visual style.

Mewtwo's role in X and Y..I don't like the new design. At first look I see no reason to go back and touch upon this Pokemon again.
But, looking back at RGBYFRLG and some minor instances in Emerald and Crystal...there could be material to work with in order to create more story for Mewtwo.
In RGBYFRLG we're introduced to the character of Dr. Fuji through the old journals in Cinnabar Island. This journals chronicle the creation of Mewtwo.
Pokemon Emerald, in the island where you can find Mew, there are this incomplete writtings that point to Dr. Fuji.
In Pokemon Crystal, where Mewtwo was located 3 years prior in RGBY, there's an item found called the Bezerk Gene. This item hasn't been introduced to the games since Gen II. (Though this was basically retconned in HGSS.)
What am I getting at? There's a story that could possibly be expanded upon already within game canon and an item that was basically retconned out of continuity that could possibly find it's way back in through a new explanation. A new explanation in

Writers' responsibilityI've been reading a collection of essays by Diana Wynne Jones called Reflections. It's a bunch of things she wrote for various magazines or talks, all collected together. Some of them float around various corners of the internet.
Anyway, one of the things that has stuck with me is the way stories affect children and adults. She has lots of examples of times people came up to her and told her how deeply some of her words affected them--or how much they were affected by the Piper at the Gates of Dawn chapter of the Wind in the Willows. (Incidentally, that's the only chapter I remember of that book.)
I've especially pondered her example of a blueprint.
Fantasy certainly does provide comfort--and who is not entitled to a little comfort if they can get it? For those who need that, it is the mind's perfect safety valve. But a child reading, say, a fairy story is doing a great deal more. Most fairy stories are practically perfect examples of narratives that fit the pattern of the mind at work

Skunk Reviews: Treehouse of Horror XXIIISPOILERS. I gave you fair warning.
Well, I will admit that this year's "Treehouse of Horror" special is better than last year's episode. I will admit that much.
Intro
It's topical, touching back onto the whole Mayan 2012 Doomsday prophecy BS that rings forth this year. And of course, it's because Mayan!Homer got out of being sacrificed to appease the gods, instead getting the Moe stand-in to become decapitated-with his head being kicked around for a cheap "soccer sucks" joke, followed by a cheap "blame Obama" joke. (Sounds like the writers were watching Mel Gibson's Apocalypto as they wrote this.) There really was no point to this introduction aside from some attempt at, perhaps, emphasizing the "Horror" by showing Mayan temple golems smash and destroy the Earth. I will admit that the Kang and Kodos cameo was somewhat amusing, screaming "What the hell?!" as one of the Mayan destroyers throws Lard Lad's donut at their spaceship.
GRADE: C-
Greatest Story Ever Hole

Please help - URGENT, a life is on the line.~Sahtori-Kamaya is suffering from cancer, and is in need of donations to pay for her chemotherapy. She does not have long to live.

I can't believe how little she has raised out of her goal...especially when I've watched non-life-threatening campaigns often overshoot their lofty goals.

Scrappy Doo?Hey everyone, I am wondering if anyone wants Scrappy Doo in K-9 Agency? I have seen alot of controversy regarding this character. And since Scooby, Scooby's family and Mystery Inc. will have a very big part in this comic, I was thinking of including my own version of Scrappy. And he would definitely be older and more mature with a tweaked design. I have never quite understood all the hate for Scrappy though. Even the movies and newer cartoons bash the character, but I never thought he was THAT bad. Thoughts anyone?

It's a simple story, really; a good old good VS evil story, except the protagonists are Santa (North), the Tooth Fairy, the Easter Bunny, the Sandman VS the Bogeyman (Pitch). They try to recruit Jack Frost to help them.
Maybe mention that Santa is Russian and wields swords.
That may or may not work, mind you, ha ha!
